A 10.0 UVB compact lamp has a very high UVB output similar to that associated with desert environments.
This lamp can also be used on screened terrariums or terrariums with dense screen covers to ensure UVB penetration.
Dense screens can filter out up to 50% of the UVB rays.
Fluorescent lamps lose their UV radiation and approximately 50% of their lighting output quality within one year.
Changing your terrarium lamps regularly ensures optimal light conditions and UV radiation to keep your reptiles healthy.
It is recommended to combine a high UVB output (5.0 UVB and 10.0 UVB) with a very high visual light output (2.0 UVB) for optimal results.
Fluorescent lamps do not provide sufficient heat for your animal by themselves.
A separate heat source is required in addition (eg: incandescent basking lamp).
A regular screw fitting is sufficient to operate these lamps.
